The Department of Higher Tertiary Education (DAAE) in Cyprus has realized the importance of modern education and has taken measures to increase funding, energize research and create interest for higher education. Three state universities have been opened. The Council of Educational Evaluation-Accreditation maintains a high level of education in Cyprus and provides infrastructure and equipment. An Open University of Cyprus has also been opened.

North Cyprus Universities offer affordable tuition and fees as well as accommodation charges, whilst North Cyprus offers moderate living expenses. In Cyprus, Tuition Fee ranges from EUR 2400 per year to 8000 per year. For Post-Graduation, Tuition Fees will be EUR 200 per credit for the taught stage, EUR 750 per semester during the research stage, and CYP 200 per semester during the dissertation stage.
The student deposits around EUR 1000 – 1,400 as the first installment of Tuition. It can be paid on-line or through Banks.
Estimated average living expenses for international students are 200-500 USD per month.

What are the employment opportunities in North Cyprus?
One can teach English in Cyprus. For this they need not be fluent in Turkish and Greek as it's important to create an English-speaking atmosphere in the classroom. Other options include doing voluntary work with people with disabilities at work camps or on youth exchanges on conservation projects such as the Marine Turtle Conservation Project - Northern Cyprus. Non-EU students can work up to 20 hours per week during the semester periods and 38 hours during vacation periods. They can work till six months after entering the country.
